White flowers in late summer over olive green mats.
A choice little alpine from New Zealand. Mats of rounded, glossy olive-green leaves are a perfect foil for the late summer flowers - sparkling white, rounded flowers with nice central stamens and delicate grey veins.
Requires a sunny spot with well-drained soil which doesn't get too dry. Very neat and compact and suitable for a trough. 3" (7cm) high.
This plant has long been called a Gentian although it bears little resemblance to most Gentians. It is now correctly named Gentianella saxosa.
