Mats of sharply cut leaves, purple from spring to autumn.
Another spreading Acaena or 'New Zealand Burr' forming mats of richly coloured foliage for most of the year. Little, white globular flowers in summer.
Although possibly wide-spreading, we don't find this plant overly vigorous and it is easily contained. An excellent choice for low-growing ground cover, especially in a hot, dry site but this is a very adaptable plant and it will succeed in a range of situations.
