Grows as spreading mats, not too vigorously, with deep red, plum-coloured leaves which are the perfect foil for the large heads of deep pink, starry flowers which appear later in summer. It should be no surprise that this is one of our most popular Sedums.
An easy plant for a sunny site on ordinary, well-drained soil. It can be almost evergreen, keeping some of its coloured leaves all winter, but with us it only retains the dark, terminal buds.
About 15cm (6") high when flowering. Attracts bees.
