Another delightful early season Primula, flowering in spring before the leaves fully develop. The flowers are an unusual colour - darker in bud, opening to a sort of violet/purple with a hint of rosy-pink - but very pretty with little yellow eyes and carried on very short, slender stems.
We find it easy to grow - it prefers cool, moist conditions and a fairly humus-rich soil with added peat or leaf mould etc. Only 3 to 5cm (1" or 2") when flowering, slightly taller when in full leaf. The leaves die back in autumn.
