Large white flowers with golden stamens dangle from tufts of grassy leaves in early spring. A delicate-looking but amazingly tough little alpine from N. America, this little beauty can persist through early season storms. About 15cm (6") high.
Prefers a slightly moist position (or one that simply never gets too dry). The leaves die back in summer and reappear early in the new year. Small plants offered but the plants are generally longed-lived and can eventually form good clumps, so they are good value.
Once known as a Sisyrinchium and might still be seen listed as such.
