Dense mats of silvery grey leaves all year, but especially in spring and summer. The red buds nestled in the silvery leaves are most attractive. The flower stalks lengthen and become erect as the flowers develop into red, fluffy flowers, gradually fading to pink by mid-summer.
An attractive plant that is easy to please in most soils and situations. 3cm (1") high mats with flower stems ending about 15cm (6") high.
