A neat form of this popular spring gentian, 'Stumpy' carries its huge blue trumpet flowers on shortened stems. The small mounds of slighty glossy leaves will expand slowly year on year and produce increasing amounts of flowers. Fairly slow-growing and only about 7cm (3") high.
Ideal for planting in a stone trough or in a special place in the rock garden. Prefers a well-drained, slightly richer soil with some organic matter and grit mixed through.
These are propagated by division to keep them true to name.
