The green varieties of Sempervivum often struggle to compete with the brighter, red-leaved varieties, but the pale green of 'Pekinese' is equally beautiful. Slightly hairy, it quickly makes attractive mounds and in summer the leaf tips of the older, central rosettes take on pinkish-red tips.
'Pekinese' will add interest and contrast to any collection of Houseleeks and it's one we increasingly like. An easy grower, it's also one we often include in the collections we make up for customers as it's unlikely to disappoint.
